Ryan Widzgowski to Join NE Distance
One of Maine’s Top Runners
One of the fastest Mainers of all time, Ryan Widzgowski of Keene State will be moving down to Rhode Island while looking to move up in distance to the mile. Ryan will fit in well with the NE Distance team as he’s not only speedy, but has spent this spring coaching middle school youth track at Monadnocks in New Hampshire. Ryan will be moving into the NE Distance house in August. Please join us in welcoming Ryan!
Personal Bests and Big Wins in Boston
Henry Sterling ran a personal best 4:03.33 mile at the prestigious Adrian Martinez Classic this past Thursday night in Concord. Watch his race on RunnerSpace.com
On Saturday at the New Balance Boston Twilight Meet, David Goodman defended his USATF - New England Championship in the Steeplechase and Katrina Spratford won the 3000m race with a nine-second personal best.
Middle School Cross Country
We will be continuing the cross-country program this fall in Woonsocket and will be restarting cross country for seven middle schools in Providence this fall. NE Distance athletes-in residence will be coaches. Sign-up your kids for the fall season now! Kids who sign up this spring will receive a suggested training schedule for the summer!
Portland Track Festival
Henry and David will be chasing fast times in the Steeplechase at the Portland Track Festival in Oregon this Sunday, June 14th. The meet will be broadcast live on Flotrack, but it’s more fun to watch with a group, right? With that in mind, we’ll be at Ciro’s Tavern, 42 Cherry Street in Woonsocket at 9pm on Sunday having ourselves a little viewing party. Please join us! Stay tuned to our Facebook and Twitter pages for more info.
