Tomorrow, the USATF Club National Cross Country Championships will be taking place in Bethlehem, PA on the historic Lehigh Paul Short Invite XC Courses. The New England Region of USATF will be represented well by some of it’s top athletes. Here’s a short run down:

On the Women’s Side:

The Boston Athletics Association High Performance ladies who dominated the USATF-NE XC Championships by taking six of the top seven positions in the women’s race will have most of their crew toeing the line. This includes Elaina Balouris, Juliet Bottorff, Heather Cappello, Emily Lipari, Katie Matthews, Sarah Pagano, and top prospect master’s female Jen Rhines. That squad will be looking to place highly within the teams represented. Other top New England females in the mix include USATF-NE Outdoor 5000m champion Kerri Leonhardt from the Greater Boston Track Club, New Balance Boston’s Karen Roa, UNH Alum Keely Maguire (now repping the NBB green), USATF-NE Road 5k Runner-up Caitlin Fahey (New Balance Boston). Taking things outside of USATF-NE, Esther Erb (the USATF Marathon Champ on the cover of our July/August Mag Issue) will be representing the New York Athletic Club. Feaster Five 5 Mile winner Catherine Beck of Central Park Tack Club will also be looking at a fast finish in Bethlehem tomorrow.

On the Men’s Side:

The New England Region will be just as well represented on the men’s side. Club New England XC Champion Ethan Shaw will lead the way with a full team of BAA Unicorns including runner up Dan Lowry, Dan Harper, and Marathon Olympic Trials Qualifiers Brian Harvey and Eric Ashe. The Western Mass Distance Project will also bring a hot team of wolves to the line as top regional racers Sean Duncan, Nicolai Naranjo, Jason Ayr, David Johnson, Kevin Quadrozzi, and Jesse Regnier will add to the depth of the Club National’s field. Other New Englanders joining in on the fun include Providence distance star Julian Saad, Janji’s Jack Davies (former Middlebury harrier), former Sacred Heart runner Chris Connelly, New England Distance runners David Goodman and Henry Sterling, and former FloTrack Kick of the Week holder Chris Kibler (GBTC).
