The men’s open 10k and master’s 8k saw just as much blue and gold up front as the women’s race. The open race featured a hot pace off the gun with the lead athletes running through the mile marker in 4’45”. Shortly after the first trip up Bear Cage, however, eventual winner Ethan Shaw would break away and race a good 70% of the event all alone up front. Shaw would win the championship in a time of 30’05” and teammate Dan Lowry would snag the silver in 30’28”. The BAA would take the team title with a solid 19 point performance. The BAA master’s squad would complete three team victories on the day as Mike Galoob, Chris Magill, and Peter Hammer would prove to be the fastest guys 40 years of age and older, with 8k times of 26’25”, 26’26”, and 26’29”.
