Friends of Stanley Park:

On Sunday, October 19, 2014, Stanley Park in Westfield, MA, will host the second annual Run Stanley, a 5k cross country run/walk through the Wildlife Sanctuary trails.

Run Stanley 2013 raised funds to replace the “crooked bridge” along the River Trail, which was washed out in a storm.  The severe and long-lasting winter caused us a late start on the bridge building process, but we’re currently in the design development stage. Run Stanley 2014 will continue our fundraising efforts to make additional trail improvements, including a second bridge, signage, trail marking, and path clearing.  Your support of Run Stanley 2014 will help make walking, running, and cycling in the Wildlife Sanctuary easier and safer. Help us save the Sanctuary!

New this year! Run Stanley welcomes Stanley Park fans of all ages.  This year a Kids’ Dunkin Donuts Fun Run will take place before the 5k.  Young participants will run ¾ mile course around the Stanley Park athletic fields, starting and finishing at the Children’s Pavilion.  All fun run participants will have a race bib and those registered by October 1 will receive a youth race shirt.  Fun run is not timed. Older children who wish to run the 5k are welcome. 13 and under age group prize will be awarded for the 5k.

This is a great opportunity to show your support for Stanley Park by signing up to run or walk.  Form a team and get friends and family involved. We encourage individuals and teams to collect pledges so their participation can make the most impact.  Top fundraisers will be recognized at the event.

We also ask local businesses, organizations, and offices to show their support for Stanley Park by signing on as sponsors.  Visit our sponsorship page to find out more about sponsorship opportunities.

Thank you for your support! See you on Sunday, 10/19!
