Lampert in the Spotlight for 10

We’re trying something a little new here ahead of the first annual New England Running Company 10 Mile Classic. A call was put out by NE Running Co for volunteers to step up and be a featured runner in the race. The featured runner would get the Level treatment (i.e. some web time), and for suffering through a ten mile race followed by an interview with EJN they would get some sweet Brooks gear. The lucky runner this time…

Craig Lampert

Craig is a 29 year old Material Handler - GE/Lieutenant at the Georgetown Fire Department. Here’s a little more background info on Craig ahead of Sunday’s race:

How many years have you been running for?

August will mark 2 years of running.

What’s the longest race you’ve ever done?

My longest race was the Rock The Parkway Half Marathon in April of this year.

How many miles a week are you doing?

I’m trying to average 15 miles a week along with cross training on my bike.

Are you on a team?

I do not run for a team, although I did try to start my own running club, “Lampert’s Running Club”… didn’t work out the way I had hoped. Maybe I’ll try again this year.

What’s your goal for the 10 miler?

My goal for Sunday’s race will be somewhere close to an eight minute average pace. We’ll see how I feel at the half way point.

Maybe Lampert’s Running Club will benefit from the Level Bump and will get huge overnight. We’ll see. For now we’ll just have to keep an eye out for Craig at Sunday’s race. You can follow Craig on Twitter: @CMLampert
