Despite the name, the BU Mini Meets are among the most popular indoor track meets in the New England area, where runners of all kinds gather to work on their speed. In the 3rd and final meet of the 2016/2017 season, some fast athletes showed up and they did not disappoint. Here’s some distance highlights from the January 7th meet:

3000m:

U. Hartford alum John Busque rips an 8’16.86 to top BAA athlete Connor Reck and Bridgewater State alum Andy Sukeforth. Watch the race unfold below:

We also captured section 2, where Scott Leslie hammers away to a negative split 8’47, a new personal record for the CMS stud. Scott also came back to run a 4’34 in the mile later in the meet.

Saucony Hurricane athlete Marci Klimek takes command for the women to run 9’25 out of section 3. Battle Road TC’s Holly Rees is the 2nd woman just 3 seconds behind Klimek

Mile:

Heartbreaker David Melly opens his indoor campaign in style with an even split 4’14, leading five men sub-4’20.

Megan Krumpoch (New Balance) competes well against a full section of men and races herself to a new PR of 4’36.

Four GBTC ladies achieve a common goal of breaking 4’55 in the mile. They were lead by Jess Teal‘s club record performance of 4’49.04. Aly Ursiny (4’50.01), Victoria Barnaby (4’53.35), and Allison McCabe (4’54.94 out of the 6th heat) rounded out the incredible performances by the GBTC crew.
